If you live in or near Muncie, Indiana you know how hot it gets in the summer. Today it reached 91 degrees, and that'll put a real strain on your AC system. On days like this your attic can reach temperatures higher than 120 degrees, so if your home is not properly insulated that heat will radiate into your home, making your HVAC system work double time, or lose it's ability to keep up altogether.
So what do you do when your system can't keep up? Or your utility bills are getting out of control? Well, sometimes all you need is a tune up. The problem could be that some of the components in your furnace or air conditioner or heat pump are losing their efficiency or "capacity" to do the work. Yep. Parts do go bad over time, especially if they're perpetually accumulating dirt, dust, or outside debris.
HINT: Dogs pee on outdoor coils, causing leaks, and sometimes rodents eat components---wires, fasteners, etc--and those little guys (and gals) can really cause problems.
Regular filter changes can also give your system some relief, too. But at the end of the day, if your system is not performing properly, it may be time to upgrade to a new TRANE hvac system, inspect and/rebuilt your duct system or both. We bring duct work into the equation because sometimes a poorly designed duct system--or leaking ducts--may be the reason your old system is not working as well.
